Max was an art professor at Southeastern from 1964-1989. He was chosen as the first director of the Parson’s Scholar Program in 1979 and remained in the role until his retirement in 1989. Max has received numerous awards such as National Art Educator of the Year in Oklahoma, Governor’s Art Award, and served as President of the Oklahoma Art Education Association. Max designed the Boule Fountain and the University Seal. He was honored by the University and was named a Distinguished Former Faculty in 1996.
Impact
This scholarship is for students majoring in Art Education. Recipients must be U.S. citizens, Oklahoma residents, enrolled full-time, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
