Allen was president of Southeastern Oklahoma State University from 1952-1967. He continued to teach history at Grayson County College until a year before his death. He is listed in Who’s Who in American Education and Who’s Who in Methodism. He served in World War Two as a lieutenant commander in the United States Navy.
